Columbia Pictures looking to call ‘Ghostbusters’ for a third film?

Columbia Pictures is reportedly looking at getting Harold Ramis, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson back together for a third “Ghostbusters” film.

Variety reports Columbia has gotten "The Office" co-exec producers Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky to pen a new script for the film – which would be aimed at putting the original team back against some ghost bad guys.

Columbia has yet to officially comment on the film’s development or even if there was interest in bringing “Ghostbusters” back to the screen.

1984’s “Ghostbusters” and its sequel (released in 1989) were written by Ramis and Aykroyd. The two films were directed by Ivan Reitman. The first film scored a big pay day for Columbia – which could help serve as an incentive to get the gang back together even if it requires a big paycheck.
